As many of you know we have stopped work on Next-X after 8 long years. I personally cannot say this came a surprise since most of the creators(myself included) have all had many real life issues come up which curtailed our progress with things on the site. I for one am very glad of not only the time we all had on the site(& the MSN group so long ago), but also the friendships that have been forged over the years. To be completely honest while there have been troubles in the workflow from time to time Next-X was the most professional fan-site I have ever come across. Also in a funny way a "bitch-out" letter that got sent to me(and the others I assume) in some ways validates everything we ever did. The fact that someone was so angry with us for stopping work on the site really goes to show that we did strike a cord with people. I would say that I will miss working with all of the folks from the site but, we will always be around to bounce ideas back & forth to each other. Much luvs to all my fellow creators. --Carl
Well put Carl. I really enjoyed my time on Next X - especially when it was at it's height and there were four or five of us regularly turning out material. That sense of community and participating in building our own little universe was wonderful and I still think that a lot of the stories stand up to a re-read. Now I'm wondering whether I should re-invent some of the old Next X creations independently of Next X as Angie has done.
I think that would kick butt man. Hell I've already started re-doing some of them. Once I get enough of my stuff for the Heroes story I'm working on done I'll be posting some and most of Next-X will be able to tell who the main character is.
